Marchant is a home owned and operated Ace Hardware Store and Contractor Center. Our staff prides its commitment to service and quality products.

In 1960 -- at the age of 22 -- Lowell Marchant wanted to get out of drywall construction, and saw a need for housing in northern Arkansas. He began building houses, but soon found a greater need for building supplies that was not being met. Often, at the lumber yards, Lowell found himself overlooked. Lumber yards weren't pricing materials competitively and often didn't carry an inventory builders would need.

Knowing very little about the building materials business, Lowell nevertheless went into business with little operating capital and no line of credit. Thanks to some good suppliers who had faith in his future success, Lowell was able to get credit and get started.

In the early days, running the business was difficult. He was doing everything in the business himself, often with long hours and little or no pay. The hard work paid off, though, as customers began buying and suppliers started dropping by, wanting him to sell their products. For some time, everything he made went back into the business, but slowly, the business grew into a profitable one.

Thanks to the help of some talented employees and loyal customers, today Lowell's business thrives, both in Mountain Home, as well as through associates in other cities in Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana.

Management Staff

	Bob Wedgeworth, Manager Bob has worked in the building materials business since 1972. He now serves as manager and partner in the firm.
	Troy Hodnett, Assistant Manager Troy has been working in the building business since 1977. He began working with contractor sales in 1984, and has been assistant manager at Marchant's since 1991.
	Brian Aides, Install Sales Division Manager Brian began working at Marchant Building Center in 1999. Brian has 15 years experience in construction.
	Dan Miller, Operations Manager Dan began working at Marchant Building Center in 2000. Dan has 16 years experience in the lumber retail industry.
Outside Sales Staff
	Phillip Honey, Outside Sales Phillip has been connected with the construction business for over 16 years. He has been working with Marchant's for 4 years.
	Doug Perry, Outside Sales Doug began working with residential windows and doors in 1985. He has been with Marchant Building Center since 1998.
Kitchen and Bath Sales
	Kari Reynolds, Kitchen and Bath Sales Kari has 8 years experience in the building materials business. Kari began working at Marchant Building Center in 1999.
